The Palace of Wonders may not only be found at the Millenáris, but it can be found in various forms at various locations in Hungary, or even abroad.
 

Travelling exhibition and experience demonstration

A number of visitors asked whether it was possible to eventually take the tools and games that can be found and used at our exhibition to company or family programmes, cultural institutions or schools. This gave the idea to compile a travelling exhibition with which we could move to a great number of Hungarian cities - to special programmes and festivals - and also to foreign countries. The travelling exhibition includes twenty of our most popular tools, and these tools - just like the tools of the permanent exhibition - are developed and updated continuously. The exhibition requires approximately 150-200 square metres, and serves as an hour and a half to two hours of entertainment for approximately 60-80 visitors. Certainly our professional demonstrators accompany the travelling exhibition in order to help the audience.

Visitors may find us regularly at the Gyermeksziget (Children’s Island) in Budapest, Spring Festival in Szeged and in the winter break in Debrecen. At the same time we appear every year at the city programmes - mainly on the day of Children - of Gyöngyös, Hatvan and Szombathely. Every year thousands of visitors are entertained and educated within the country with tools like the dancing ball - which became our symbol as it is usually placed at the entrance -, the mirror games or sound statuary.
At the same time we prepared a travelling version of the demonstrations of Öveges room. According to the characteristics and requirements of the programme we compile a 30-60 minute-long demonstration of the most popular and most spectacular demonstrations. With the help of this travelling programme we proved that our demonstrators can make a show of science basically anywhere. Every year thousands of people can participate in our spectacular demonstrations from the smallest villages to the largest cities. There are venues and programmes where our experiment demonstrations are traditionally the part of the programme: like the finals of the Ilona Zrínyi Mathematics Competition at Kecskemét, where our demonstrators perform for the competitors every year since 2002. Apart from these opportunities we had the chance to perform for a greater audience: we demonstrated our experiments regularly in the show of the Hungarian State Television (Magyar Televízió) entitled “Válaszd a tudást!” (Choose knowledge!).
We appeared at science festivals and cultural exhibitions of several European cities. Among many, we demonstrated in Munich, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Waterford. In Lučenec, Slovakia we presented our experiments for school children a number of times, and with it we hopefully brought them closer to scientific reasoning.

The World of Wonders in Budapest
The programme that is the result of the cooperation of the Palace of Wonders and Tropicarium has been established in 2002. The essence of the idea is to help the groups that come from outside Budapest in not only their education in our two scientific educational entertaining institutions, but also to show them the most important sites of the capital. For this reason we provide a bus which carries the group from one location to the other. Above this we provide a kind young escort, who can handle children, and may ease the job of the teachers who already undertook a great challenge with taking a class of schoolchildren to Budapest. The bus and the escorting guide await the group at the train station. The well-prepared, well-accommodated programme starts from here, and includes visiting a third institution, since there is a great opportunity due to current legislation: if a school group visits a nationwide museum, and visits the Crown Jewelleries in the Parliament building, the group can travel by the Hungarian State Railways for free! Most of the groups use this opportunity, since this way the cost of visiting the capital decreases

At the same time we do not want students and teachers of Budapest to be out of focus - to them different types of excursions are offered. We help them to get to places and programmes that are difficult or impossible to visit individually. And all these are offered well below the usual expenses. These programmes include the visiting of the holiday park at Csillebérc, discovering the mysterious world of caves, or visiting the palaces of arts, etc. Along with these we constantly expand our services, and constantly try to give the most to both students and teachers, so they may return home satisfied.
